I've just had a thought. Have you?

With my day job being in technology, I've always got half an ear on the ground in search of the next best tool or app that can help me, my friends, my whanau and anyone else get an edge in life. Be it to be more productive, appear more genius (I've yet to find anything that can help with that), or simply to understand myself a bit better.

You'll note from a couple of blog posts ago I was diagnosed with ADHD. At 45 years old. I'm glad to say that despite the near death experience (feel free to ask about how my four-week-bender on atomoxetine went..!) I'm largely over the worst of it; but still have existential-like questions about what it all means for me and my family now.

One of the big things I've struggled with has been sleep. Some nights are better than others, but in general I wont get much more than 4 to 5 hours.

Bad times, where I'm stressed about something, I may not sleep at all. I think my record with insomnia was about 5 days without sleep. COVID-19, despite all the working from home, has not helped at all in getting any kip in.

While resorting to medications and supplements like melatonin or magnesium can help, they suppress the problem, rather than fix it. Instead, getting access to identifying the underlying causes of stress or anxiety may be a better option.

With this, The Wise Group have been busy creating a suite of brands which have had a great track record for doing good for others and their motto remains to help people with mental illness live happier, healthier and more fulfilling lives.

One of their latest ventures is called Just A Thought It provides free (!!!) online therapy for all kiwis, but for me, their key selling point is the courses they provide around anxiety, depression and managing sleep. Winner winner chicken dinner!

It may seem counter intuitive that we would be recommending another organisations' work. The reality is that this isn't a competition and if you or I get benefit from it, then what kind of a person would I be to not share the info.

Or in other words, your success is our success.

If you've enjoyed this post, and want to share how we or Just A Thought have benefitted you, please do reach out. If there's anything you'd like to know more about, please do reach out. If you're bored and want a chin wag, please do reach out. If you want me to stop begging for a conversation, please do reach out....

Until next time!

Chris
